The European Union's High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, is holding talks in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he arrived yesterday on a visit that will continue until tomorrow, Monday, April 29. According to a statement issued by Borrell's office in Brussels, during his visit, the European official will participate in a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum and will hold several bilateral meetings with regional actors and forum participants.
The European statement added, “Today, Sunday, April 28, the High Representative for European Foreign Policy will participate in a panel discussion in the World Economic Forum Stakeholder Dialogue: “From North to South, from East to West: Rebuilding Trust.” The session will be broadcast live.
On the sidelines of the forum, the Vice President for Human Resources will hold bilateral meetings with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Hassan Shukri. Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan; Head of the Yemeni Presidential Council, Rashad Al-Ali, and Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Ede.
His participation will provide an opportunity to exchange views on how progress on global and regional priorities can be shaped within the current challenging geopolitical and geoeconomic landscape; In addition to discussing the current challenges resulting from the situation in the region.
