Brussels: Europe and the Arabs
The European Union condemned in the strongest terms the Iranian attack on Israel, which poses a serious threat to regional security. The European Union affirms its commitment to Israel's security. This came in a statement issued in Brussels by the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, which also stated, "Once again, a dangerous cycle of attacks and retaliation threatens to fuel an uncontrollable regional escalation that is in no one's interest.
The European Union remains fully committed to reducing tensions and contributing to de-escalation to avoid a serious regional conflict.
The European Union is in close contact with all actors to this end and will continue to do so. We call on all parties to exercise maximum restraint.
