European media outlets, specifically the European news network in Brussels "Euronews", were interested in pointing out today, Friday, the most prominent Arab leaders who rushed to congratulate the transitional president in Syria. Euronews said, "After his appointment as the transitional president of Syria, a group of Arab leaders rushed to congratulate Ahmed al-Sharaa, previously known as Abu Muhammad al-Julani, on assuming his new position."
It added that following the announcement of al-Sharaa's presidency, the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, visited the Syrian capital to congratulate him, announcing Doha's readiness to begin serious discussions regarding the reconstruction of Damascus.
The Emiri Diwan indicated in a statement that Sheikh Tamim stressed during his visit the steadfastness of his country's position in support of Syria, within the framework of achieving its desired goals of reaching a state of "justice and freedom."
Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, also sent a congratulatory message to al-Sharaa on his leadership of the presidency of the Syrian Arab Republic in the transitional phase, according to the Saudi Press Agency "SPA".
The UAE congratulated Al Sharaa in a telegram sent by its President, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and his Deputy Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, according to the state news agency. For his part, Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa expressed his wishes for Al Sharaa’s success in the transitional phase, as did the Emir of Kuwait, Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Jordanian King Abdullah II, and Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq
