
EU imports of sporting goods from China and Vietnam amount to nearly €11 billion, while exports exceed €7 billion to the United States and Britain.

The value of imports of sporting goods from outside the European Union last year amounted to €10.8 billion, representing 0.4% of the EU's total imports. Total exports from outside the EU amounted to €7.3 billion (0.3% of total EU exports), according to figures published by Eurostat, the European Statistical Office in Brussels.
"Sports footwear," "gym, swimming, and sports equipment," and "boats and water sports equipment" were the main categories of EU imports by value, while "boats and water sports equipment," "gym, swimming, and sports equipment," and "sports shoes" were the main exports.
The top import partners for sporting goods in 2024 were China (€4.5 billion), Vietnam (€1.9 billion), and Indonesia (€0.5 billion), while the top export partners were the United States (€1.6 billion), the United Kingdom (€1.0 billion), and Switzerland (€0.9 billion).
This came in a Eurostat statement on the activity and impact of sport in the European Union, issued on the occasion of the European Week of Sport (23-30 September).
