Sheikh Nourredine Tawil, Head of the Council of Muslim Scholars in Belgium and Europe, expressed his delight at the spiritually enriching meeting he held with His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League. Sheikh Al-Issa is currently visiting Brussels—the capital of Belgium and the European Union—where he is holding talks with various officials from the Belgian government and institutions of the European Union.
In statements made to the "Europe and the Arabs" website on Saturday, Sheikh Nourredine Tawil noted that he had welcomed the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League. He described the meeting as a blessed occasion that fostered mutual understanding regarding future cooperation. He stated, "I share a good relationship and a strong friendship with the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League; he has asked me to become a member of the Islamic Fiqh Academy so that we may establish a dedicated department for the jurisprudence of Muslim communities in Europe."
According to a statement issued in Brussels—a copy of which was received—the Council of Muslim Scholars in Belgium and Europe, led by Sheikh Nourredine Tawil, hosted His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa. The event was a spiritual and dialogue-oriented gathering that brought together a number of scholars, imams, and Islamic leaders from Belgium.
Sheikh Nourredine Tawil and the members of the Council of Muslim Scholars welcomed Sheikh Al-Issa, expressing their happiness at the meeting and the opportunity it provided for communication, the exchange of expertise, and the strengthening of cooperation in the service of Muslims and European society. The gathering featured a spiritual session and an open dialogue, during which H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa offered guidance and advice to scholars, imams, and Islamic leaders. He emphasized the importance of the responsibility they bear in serving their communities, caring for the youth, fostering religious awareness, and building bridges of communication and dialogue with all segments of society.
The event was attended by the President of the Brussels Municipal Council, alongside Islamic leaders and representatives from Islamic centers, mosques, and federations, as well as representatives from Muslim communities of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds, all within an atmosphere of brotherhood, communication, and dialogue.
The Council of Muslim Scholars in Belgium and Europe affirmed that this meeting reflects its commitment to bringing together scholars, imams, and Islamic leaders; activating their role within European society; strengthening cooperation and communication among them; and serving future Muslim generations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Council expressed its sincere gratitude and appreciation to H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa for his presence and guidance, expressing hope that such meetings would lead to further joint initiatives that serve Muslims and promote the values ​​of dialogue, coexistence, and peace in Europe.
