Planes from France, Turkey and Spain participated in exercises in the skies of Romania on coordinating action to protect airspace

Brussels: Europe and the Arabs
NATO allies France, Spain and Turkey have conducted long-range tests over Romania of how their air assets can work together to protect NATO airspace, according to a post by the alliance's X platform on Twitter previously. Check over Romania on how their air assets are working together to protect NATO airspace with Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) assets.
This mission has been extremely beneficial to all Air Forces involved in implementing and achieving integration and interoperability
The validation test saw fighter and refueling aircraft from France, Spain and Turkey fly together over Romania, improving the readiness and interoperability of NATO IAMD along with additional assets such as Surface Air and Missile Defense (SBAMD) systems. During the mission, NATO Air Command through the Combined Air Operations Center in Torrejon oversaw the procedural test analyzing how these assets could be brought together to work together efficiently.
“NATO's IAMD system provides a highly responsive, time-sensitive, and continuous capability to achieve the required level of control over the air. This ensures that the Alliance can achieve freedom of action to carry out the full range of its missions, protecting and protecting Alliance territory,” said Brigadier General Christoph Plait, Deputy Chief of Staff. At Allied Air Command: "This mission has been extremely beneficial for all air forces involved in implementation, integration and interoperability," he added.
Once activated, SBAMDs provide their data to NATO's IAMD network of national and NATO-supplied sensors, command and control assets, and weapons systems. This joint and integrated defense network compiles the data received into a single recognized air and missile image.
“Participating combat aircraft operated away from home or from deployed bases and flew into Romania with the assistance of mission air-to-air refueling aircraft and integrated with on-site SBAMD units. This complex mission demonstrated that NATO and its allies are capable of implementing flexible long-range deterrence options as well as To maintain a general posture ready to deter and defend every inch of NATO territory.
NATO's IAMD is a defense component of the Alliance's Combined Air Force, which aims to ensure the stability and security of NATO airspace through the coordination, control and exploitation of airspace. It is an essential and ongoing mission in times of peace, crisis and conflict, conducted using a 360-degree approach across NATO territory, and ready to counter the full range of threats.
