A cabinet reshuffle in Belgium witnesses the exit of a minister of Arab descent from the government coalition

Brussels: Europe and the Arabs
It was announced in Brussels today, Saturday, that Parliamentarian Caroline Gines (from the Socialist Forward Party) was chosen to replace Miriam Ketter as Minister of Development Cooperation and Urban Policy in the federal government. She is of Arab descent, one of the countries of North Africa.
This was announced by the party, after consultations between its chairman Connor Russo and Deputy Prime Minister Frank Vandenbroek.
Ketter announced at the end of October that she would be taking a leave of absence for medical reasons, although it soon became clear that there were also problems with her staff, according to local media in Brussels.
According to the party's statement, the stress associated with cooperating with the work team consumed a lot of it. And the party decided to investigate the matter. It was reportedly agreed with her that she would rest "temporarily" and then return. Especially since Miriam is still considered a parliamentarian in the Limburg region, and the Vorot party does not want to lose those votes. The party confirmed a few weeks ago that it had no intention of replacing her with anyone else.
In a statement, he said the investigation had now shown that "in the current circumstances it is not possible to restore working relations". The party does not provide further details for privacy reasons.
That is why the party has now chosen the successor to Minister Miriam, MP Caroline Hu. She has the experience to lead the work immediately.” The new Minister, Geniz, will be sworn in before the Belgian monarch this evening

Ketier will return to her parliamentary seat as soon as she fully recovers, and with her experience will strengthen her Forward Party. Miriam was the leader of the Socialists in Parliament until she became a minister in 2020.
