A shell fell inside the headquarters of the United Nations Forces (UNIFIL) in Naqoura, southern Lebanon, and the source is unknown

New York: Europe and the Arabs
The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) said that a shell fell yesterday, Saturday, inside its headquarters in Naqoura, in the south of the country, without exploding and causing only material damage.
In a statement, the peacekeeping mission said that it was working to confirm the source of the attack, and stressed that this was not the first time that the headquarters and its other sites had been exposed to damage in the past three weeks.
She added that the incident is "a stark reminder of the fragile, tense and highly volatile environment in which peacekeepers are working at the present time."
The mission urged all parties to cease fire immediately, and called on all participants in the ongoing conflict to stop “any actions that endanger the safety and security of civilians or United Nations personnel, especially since these actions may constitute violations of international law.”
UNIFIL stressed that its forces remain in their positions and are actively working with the parties on both sides of the Blue Line to calm tensions and avoid dangerous misunderstandings.
