
US Central Command confronts 3 aircraft and 5 Houthi drone boats in the Red Sea

The US Central Command, Centcom, announced that it confronted three drones and five drone boats launched by the Houthis in Yemen towards the Red Sea.
Centcom stated, in a statement via “X” reported by the American “Al Hurra” channel on Sunday, that on March 16, between 7:50 am and 8:15 am (Sanaa time), the Houthis launched two drones from their areas of control in Yemen. Towards the Red Sea.
She added, "Our forces succeeded in engaging and destroying a drone, and the other is presumed to have crashed in the Red Sea. There were no reports of damage or injuries to nearby ships." According to what was reported by the Middle East News Agency
Centcom also noted that it destroyed five unmanned surface ships and one drone in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen in self-defense.
For its part, the Maritime Trade Operations Authority said that it had received a report of an explosion near a commercial ship while it was sailing 85 nautical miles east of Aden, Yemen.
According to the Al Arabiya website, the British Navy stated that the ship’s captain informed it that his ship had not suffered any damage and was continuing to sail toward its destination, confirming that the crew members were fine.
The authority added that the authorities are investigating the incident, and advised ships passing in the area to be careful and report any suspicious activity.
The authority did not provide further details, but the region witnessed repeated attacks carried out by the Houthi group on commercial ships.
