European countries are preparing for a heat wave while other countries are suffering from unstable weather represented by high temperatures amid expectations of rain and strong winds, which was announced by countries including Belgium, which experienced a warm day yesterday, Wednesday, with maximum temperatures ranging between 25 and 30 degrees, but the meteorological department also warned of severe local thunderstorms in yellow.
The clear sky and cumulus clouds alternated yesterday, Wednesday. The weather was warm and hot. The regional meteorological department said that we will also have alternating clear spells, clouds and rain or thunderstorms today, Thursday. At the end of the day, it will become drier from the west. The temperature will range between 20 and 25 degrees.
The weather will be sunny again on Friday, with maximum temperatures ranging between 21 and 25 degrees. The sun is still visible on Saturday morning, but more clouds will appear during the day with the possibility of rain. It will then be a maximum of 22 to 26 degrees.
While meteorologists in the Czech Republic warned of a heat wave sweeping most parts of the country on Wednesday, especially in the capital "Prague" and the "Central Bohemia" region.
Radio Prague International reported in its English-language bulletin that temperatures are likely to reach 34 degrees Celsius, noting that the meteorology issued warnings to citizens to avoid exposure to sunlight as much as possible, avoid physical exertion and drink more fluids.
The radio added that this warning is in effect from noon until 8 pm today, local Czech time.
This comes after the Italian authorities issued a red alert in 12 cities yesterday, Wednesday, to warn of an unprecedented heat wave.
The alert - which warned of the dangers of high temperatures to public health - included cities including Bologna, Bolzano, Brescia, Florence, Frosinone, Milan, Rome, Turin and Viterbo.
In a related context, the Italian Ministry of Health warned - in a statement - of the negative effects of high temperatures, especially on the health of the elderly and children.
The ministry recommended avoiding going out and doing activities during the hottest hours of the day. Temperatures are expected to continue for several days, making the beginning of August particularly hot.
