The Olympic duo Ahmed El Gendy and Sarah Samir will carry the Egyptian flag at the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics, scheduled to be held this evening, Sunday.
The Paris 2024 Olympics competitions, which lasted for 3 weeks, will conclude on Sunday, August 11.
The closing ceremony will be held on Sunday at 11 pm Cairo time.
Yasser Idris, the Egyptian Olympic Committee, stated: "We decided that Ahmed El Gendy and Sarah Samir will carry the Egyptian flag at the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics as well."
El Gendy and Sarah raised the Egyptian flag at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics, which was held in the Seine River.
He added: "We have 12 players who were in the fourth to eighth places and were candidates to win medals if it weren't for bad luck."
Egypt won 3 different medals, with Ahmed El Gendy winning a gold in the modern pentathlon, Sarah Samir winning a silver in weightlifting, and Mohamed El Sayed winning a bronze in foil.
