The Israeli army announced today, Tuesday, that its aircraft bombed buildings belonging to the Lebanese Hezbollah group in the areas of Kfar Kila, Marouhin and Mays al-Jabal in southern Lebanon.
The Times of Israel newspaper quoted the army as saying - in a brief statement - "The air force aircraft also targeted a Hezbollah observation point in the Aita al-Shaab area located on the border."
Yesterday, the Chief of Staff of the Israeli army, Herzi Halevi, conducted an assessment and approved multi-front operational plans amid Israel's preparations for an imminent attack by Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah group.
The assessment came at a time when media reports yesterday, Monday, citing regional sources, stated that Iran would launch an attack on Israel within the next 24 hours.
This escalation comes after Hezbollah leader Fuad Shukr was killed by Israel in an airstrike in Beirut a few hours before the assassination of the head of the political bureau of the Hamas movement, Ismail Haniyeh, on July 31 in Iran.
This came after Palestine TV reported on Monday evening that 10 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a house in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.
Earlier, Palestinian media reported that 12 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes on Khan Yunis, adding that the victims arrived at Nasser Hospital.
In the same context, the Axios news website reported, citing an informed source, that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will head to the Middle East on Tuesday, amid escalating tensions in the region.
The website said that Blinken is scheduled to visit Qatar, Egypt, and Israel, noting that these "plans are not final."
